Soon after announcing the economic availability of Echo products – Echo Plus, Echo, and Echo Dot in India, Amazon has now launched video-enabled Echo Spot in India. Designed like an alarm clock, the smart speaker device is based on Alexa, that is Amazon’s voice-controlled virtual assistant. Amazon launched its range of Echo devices back in October 2017 in the form of the Echo Plus (Rs 14,999), the Echo (Rs 9,999) and the Echo Dot (Rs 4,499). Amazon is selling the Echo Spot at an introductory price of Rs 12,999, but in case you want to buy two of them, it will cost you Rs 20,999 as a special offer.
Apart from being available online, Amazon will be focusing on the offline market to promote its variety of Echo smart speakers in India. The e-commerce giant is in discussions with conventional retailers like Croma, Reliance digital to promote the Echo devices even as it considers opening its own stores. It is currently being sold in Bangaluru, Mumbai, and over 350 offline retail stores across 20 major cities in India.
